The Supply Chain Director manages all Purchasing, Planning, Inventory and Customer Service activity, supporting sites in Middleboro, Bristol, and Wallingford. He/she develops and implements global sourcing and supplier management business systems/processes to effectively plan and procure raw materials/components/equipment. This position is leading a team responsible for achieving business goals in the areas of on-time delivery, working capital, material productivity, and supplier performance.


  • Achieve department goals and metrics in line with yearly business goals as they relate to On-Time Delivery, Working Capital, Material Productivity, and Supplier Management.

  • Conduct continuous improvement for MRP and other ERP based systems for managing procurement, planning, and inventory management in line with achieving quality, delivery, and inventory goals

  • Contribute to Daily Management, Monthly Business Reviews, and Strategy

  • Develop and implement capacity modeling at all sites.

  • Drive make vs buy analysis to determine the best long-term approach

  • Drive results with a sense of urgency and diplomacy through superior processes and change management

  • Enhance and maintain the SIOP (sales, inventory, and planning) process with Product Management and Manufacturing leaders

  • Ensure continuity of supply to support and achieve on-time delivery metrics to our customers

  • Internal process improvements to deliver material productivity improvements

  • Lead and develop an organization of 6 professionals that includes Customer Service, Buying and Planning for all product lines at the sites along with strategic sourcing and inventory management

  • Manage global inventory of raw materials, work in process, sub-assemblies, and finished goods to support on-time delivery metrics while meeting working capital goals

  • Negotiate and contract key suppliers to ensure a competitive advantage in the marketplace

  • Oversee key suppliers ensure they achieve quality, delivery, and cost metrics that will allow us to serve our customers

  • Represent sites as an active member in the IH&S Strategic Sourcing Team

  • Select suppliers through robust supplier selection process and deploy risk mitigation techniques to ensure effective continuity of supplier even with sole source situations

  • Support supply chain requirements for New Product Development projects key to site growth


  • B.S. degree in Supply Chain Management or Operations

  • Minimum 7+ years of progressive global sourcing experience

  • At least 3 years in a leadership role (global procurement background preferred)

  • Strong knowledge of MRP systems (ideally JDE)

  • Ability to negotiate highly complex contracts

  • Sharp interpersonal skills to lead, including savvy with influencing other team employees (especially those indirectly reporting into this position)
