SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

Oversees the day to day activities of manufacturing to include machining, assembly, testing, receiving, and shipping of products to ensure attainment of schedule and to exceed customer expectations. Will utilize all necessary tools, methods, processes, and policies to maintain a safe working environment and to optimize output and minimize costs to remain competitive within the fire service industry.

Site Lead

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adherence to all Federal, State, Local, and company safety rules and regulations

  • Schedule attainment

  • Meeting BU objectives pertaining to productivity, sales, and spending

  • Mentoring and development of production supervisors

  • Lead cost reduction initiatives

  • Foster environment of continuous improvement

  • Optimizes labor force to maximize throughput

  • Engages floor employees to help drive change

  • Oversees 1st shift of employees

  • Oversees assembly, testing, and machining

  • Encourages and maintains a problem-solving culture to include floor employees

  • Maintaining safety initiatives

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND REQUIRED ABILITIES:

  • Ability to communicate with various functions and levels

  • Analytical skills

  • Lean Manufacturing knowledge to include SMED, Cellular design, 5s

  • Conflict resolution skills

  • Understanding of ISO requirements for manufacturing

  • Labor union relationship building abilities

  • Process improvement analysis, implementation and sustainment

  • Blueprint interpretation

  • Basic understanding of GD&T

  • Machining exposure and or experience

  • Ability to develop a problem-solving culture

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Production Management, Operation’s Management, Business Management or Engineering discipline

  • 5-7 years’ experience in similar role with increasing levels of responsibility

  • 7-10 years working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machining desired

  • ISO experience or exposure

  • Track record of building process improvements

  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead great teams
