POSITION SUMMARY

As a member of the Sr. Supply Chain team, the Supply Chain Planner will manage the sourcing of materials and optimize stock levels to meet stated inventory targets while supporting the plant’s production schedule. The Supply Chain Planner will be responsible for working with suppliers to improve vendor reliability, support strategic sourcing decision making and collaborate with engineering & production leaders across the organization. To be successful, the Supply Chain Planner will need to have strong ERP skills, partner with external & internal stakeholders, and support import compliance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Owns the end to end MRP process for assigned portfolio - including issuing/monitoring open purchase orders, reviewing scrap reports and managing debit memos/delivery receipts.

  • Takes action to expedite/de-expedite parts as needed to support customer demand and maintain appropriate inventory levels. Reviews freight reports, identifies root cause for expedited costs and charges back suppliers when appropriate.

  • Utilizes the 80/20 concept of Plan For Every Part (PFEP) to determine appropriate safety stock levels through detailed analytics and executes plans to achieve set targets accordingly.

  • Communicates with vendors on performance and escalates significant supply chain risks or opportunities.

  • Supports the Category Manager in strategic sourcing decisions including pricing, T&C negotiations, cost management and supplier development.

  • Collaborates with commercial leaders to develop sales forecast and set inventory stock levels that support business needs.

  • Understands the import, customs and broker process; supports any import compliance audits.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a working knowledge of MS Word and Outlook.

  • Advanced understanding of data/root cause analytics

  • Advanced knowledge of ERP Systems (J.D. Edwards preferred)

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a larger team

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

5+ years of relevant experience in Supply Chain, required Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from four-year university or (preferably with a focus in Supply Chain Management, finance or engineering) or equivalent experience APICS (American Production & Inventory Control Society) certification is preferred
