Warren Rupp is looking for a Director of Sourcing and Supply Chain to drive excellence in Cost Reduction, On-Time Delivery Performance, Supplier Management, and Inventory Management. This role has ultimate responsibility for all supply chain matters including direct material, indirect material, and services spend with aggressive cost reduction and inventory targets annually. In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing talent throughout the department as well as building effective and empowered teams.

Reporting Relationships

  • Direct to BU General Manager

  • Direct reporting of Sourcing Category Managers, Supply Chain Manager, & Material Handling Supervisor.Total number of direct and indirect reports is 20-25

Duties and Key Responsibilities

  • Own the development and execution of strategic initiatives focused on driving demand forecasting, fulfillment predictability, flexibility planning, product lifecycle planning

  • Work collaboratively across both internal and external supply chain partners to ensure tight operational alignment and visibility

  • Own inventory management and overall integrated business planning processes as it relates to supply chain

  • Create and implement a strategy for the company’s supply chain model using data and analytics around inventory, cost saving opportunities, lead times, & operational team needs

  • Identify & secure second, and if possible, third source suppliers for all key components (A&B items)

  • Manage vendor relationships (preferred suppliers) and work cross functionally to help streamline products and processes to maximize efficiencies at scale and increase cost savings

  • Continuously scan the marketplace for new suppliers for existing capabilities and new technology

  • Drive continuous part cost reductions through supplier negotiations, alternate suppliers, and alternate component identification

  • Monitor and maintain high quality and supply assurance for all critical components. Drive RCCM and similar cross-functional processes and teams to address supplier quality.

  • React to and mitigate any supply interruptions in a cross-functional manner

  • Effectively partner with operations and engineering departments to recommend product, process, and system enhancements (including proprietary engineering products)

  • Determine and maintain comprehensive inventory and logistics plans based on forecast demand, company standards, and internal team feedback

  • Explore warehousing automation, material and parts picking process improvement, and implementation of new technology to scale warehousing and material movement activity

  • Oversee warehouse and materials staffing optimization, including proactively forecasting staffing needs ahead of our needs and intelligently allocating labor across teams by day

  • Maintain strong communication path with commercial team ensuring cross functional knowledge transfer allowing to execute and drive best support plan for global customers

  • Excellent communication/presentation, organizational, analytical, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Candidate must be self-driven, independent, yet a strong team player.

  • Ability to recognize process gaps and drive improvements holistically across cross functional teams

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or Business or related field

  • 10+ years of experience in a sourcing supply chain or related functions

  • Significant Supply Chain and Operations background preferred, with experience in multiple disciplines (e.g., manufacturing, planning, logistics, etc.)

  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) knowledge utilizing ERP software in one or more of the following: Supply Chain, Demand Planning, Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP), Inventory Management, Capacity Planning or Production Planning

Knowledge and Skills

  • Superior understanding of global sourcing, global supply chain and procurement processes and strategy

  • Strong understanding of market place and industry business operations and standards

  • Advanced ability to build forward-thinking partnerships with suppliers

  • Strong leadership skills, particularly in complex, international, and cross functional teams

  • Communication skills catered to a wide variety of audiences; mastery in English and local language

  • Excellent business acumen and understanding of risk mitigation approaches and contract language usage

  • Strong financial skills

  • Excellent understanding of the company’s policies and processes

  • Ability to manage complex processes concurrently

  • Solid consulting, influencing and negotiation skills; ability to ensure strategic alignment with multiple parties

  • Organized and self-motivated with the ability to independently manage multiple projects and initiatives

  • Experience with the implementation of technology systems and process automation
