The Risk Manager manages the organizations overall insurance program, working with internal stake holders and outside third-party providers to ensure the company has adequate coverage. The risk manager will identify risks and exposures and provide recommendations to business units, as well as work with business units on implementing property insurer recommendations deemed appropriate.

Responsibilities for Risk Manager:

  • Manage the organization's overall insurance and risk management program

  • Lead the annual insurance policy renewal by working with business units and third-party service providers including brokers and insurers to collect, evaluate and provide risk exposure data to determine appropriate levels of insurance coverage

  • Identify risk areas and develop strategies to mitigate risk exposure to ensure optimum insurance coverage and costs.

  • Design and implement an overall risk management process for the organization, which includes developing action plans to decrease risks factors

  • Lead and direct key risk stakeholders, including coordinating with business units to implement actions items and key recommendations from property insurer

  • Communicate and update property insurers on completed recommendations, action items, and recommendation priorities and changes.

  • Manages insurance claims including communications with insurance adjusters, brokers, and company stakeholders at the business units and corporate office, such as legal and treasury.

  • Prepare risk management and insurance budgets and reports

  • Maintain records of insurance policies and claims

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of experience leading Risk Management & Insurance or in a senior risk management position

  • Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance or a related field

  • Strong working knowledge of risk management and thorough understanding of policies and best practices of risk management

  • Strong planning and organizational skills to prioritize multiple projects under pressure and shifting demands and to meet critical deadlines.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
