The Value Stream Manager (VSM) will oversee day to day activities of their respective Value Stream. They will lead their team to meet daily, monthly, quarterly and annual targets/goals and provide a high level of leadership for the employees within the Value Stream to improve the engagement scores. The VSM drives profitable growth, delivers outstanding customer service, develops a technically qualified workforce, and reduces operating cost and inventories through incremental & continuous improvements projects. The focus of this role is to drive labor productivity, throughput, and customer OTD. This role will lead a production group, provide coaching, support, and direction to drive employee engagement.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities

  • Lead the operations team to meet the daily production needs of the customer and the OTD goal for the site.

  • Lead the value stream team to develop/implement/execute the production plan and work with the operations team to execute the plan to meet the needs of the customer while improving processes and achieving the operations KPI's.

  • Utilizes the IDEX Difference (Great Teams, 8020 focus, and Customer Obsession) as a tool to create competitive advantage.

  • Deploy 8020 principles focusing on the highest valued product and customer opportunity. Be a constant advocate for the site.

  • Develop/maintain the capacity model for the site to ensure adequate resources & operators to meet the needs of the customer for the short & long term. This includes developing plans to expand the workforce and equipment as needed for future growth.

  • The VSM will work hand-in-hand with the ME/Facilities Mgr. and Quality Mgr. to drive process improvements for the site; supporting RIE events and process improvements for the business. Working closely with management on lean process projects to reduce waste and improve efficiencies.

  • Develop and implement an action plan to improve the iSay survey results for the operations team.

  • Responsible for all aspects of managing the Value Stream to include employee growth, budget planning, employment decisions related to employees, and performance assessment of team leaders and employees.

  • Communicates with peers and management using respect, integrity, cooperation, teamwork and professionalism.

  • Ensures individual accountability for meeting product quality standards and production schedule commitments.

  • Maintains a safe working environment for all employees.

  • Administers application of company policies, including performance evaluations, attendance, safety, grievances and routine working rules and regulations.

  • Identifies staffing and equipment needed to meet production requirements. Hires, trains, and motivates personnel as required. Schedules approved overtime in accordance with accepted practices.

  • Identifies product/production problems, review production re-work and rejected part inspection reports. Assist in determining and eliminate causes; works with support departments to minimize rejects and maintain optimum production flow.

  • Transitions new products from engineering to production to meet new/rapid/prototype requirements.

  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed.


  • Strong manufacturing/operations background with 5 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment

  • Bachelor’s Degree (in a technical field)

  • Excellent computer skills required

  • Understanding of lean concepts and tools

  • Must have excellent people skills and strong leadership skills

  • Management experience required

  • Positive interpersonal and facilitation skills with excellent presentation and written/verbal communication skills to properly direct, assist and train personnel

The range is $87,900 - $131,900 and will commensurate with experience. We take the compensation of our employees very seriously and consider several factors when determining the total compensation package including but not limited to location, market range, skills, knowledge, experience, and abilities. The base salary range represents the low and high end of our salary range for this role. The range listed is just one component of our total compensation packages for our employees.
