SUMMARY

Part of the IDEX Corporation, Precision Polymer Engineering , is a manufacturer and supplier of high performance, niche elastomer seals used in critical applications around the globe. PUROSE:

Under the direction of the General Manager, the Quality Manager is the direct point of contact for customer-plant liaison, responsible for the implementation of statistical methods relevant to production processes, quality cost analysis, specification and procedure development, adhering to and maintaining certification for ISO requirements, 8D problem solving and driving internal process audits.

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

QUALITY

  • Promote a strong culture of quality throughout the organization

  • Maintain and improve the Quality Management System with respect to ISO9001:2015

  • Deliver an inspection and audit plan with statistical analysis (SPC) to support end of line inspection reduction and build quality into all processes

  • Acts as liaison between Manufacturing and Quality relative to customer specifications, customer quality requirements, and customer problems

  • Maintenance of the business accreditations and customer approvals

  • Manage the customer complaints system, using RCCA techniques and use the analysis to actively drive improvement to processes to prevent reoccurrence; responsible for reviewing customer complaints, analyzing returns, and making recommendations for corrective action

  • Help grow focus customers through the delivery of professional reports and analysis to build confidence supported by exceptional processes

  • Own the Quality Management System through audit and review to ensure the business is ready for external audit. Monitor all manufacturing processes through audits and daily evaluations to ensure that processes are being followed and shortcuts are not being taken, jeopardizing the quality of our product.

  • Monitor supplier performance, including opening and seeing through any Supplier Corrective Actions (SCARs). Assist with Supplier Audits and maintaining Supplier Quality System

  • Review statistical data and present in graphical format. Drive implementation of statistical methods and quality improvement programs.

  • Supervise and direct the quality inspection team on daily tasks.

LEADERSHIP

  • Helps to promote a positive work culture aligned with the IDEX Core Values and drives to improve employee engagement.

  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and build strong relationships with all levels of the business and its stakeholders, supporting external customers daily.

  • Aid in the development and effectively execute annual operating and goal deployment action plans and improvement targets.

  • Creates and maintains project schedules and key performance indicator tracking.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5 years’ quality leadership experience in manufacturing environment

  • 4-year degree in a technical field preferred.

  • Six Sigma Green belt or higher, ASQ Certified Quality Engineer/Manager, or ISO lead auditor certifications preferred.

  • Must have working knowledge of manufacturing and quality processes and principles (ISO) industry standards. Experience in introducing and maintaining ISO 9001:2015.

  • Must have demonstrated achievement in problem solving with production teams and communication and presentation skills to wider production groups.

  • Must form strong relationships with key customers and suppliers, with familiarity of customer and supplier auditing processes.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, training, and leadership skills.

  • Must understand various quality methodologies (root cause analysis, 8D, 5-Why, fishbone analysis) and inspection techniques (caliper, micrometer, CMM).

  • Must be skilled in the use of personal computers with emphasis on analytical software (Minitab, MS Excel, JD Edwards).
