Description of Job

Perform a wide variety of assembly operations involving the assembly of parts and/or units generally run in production quantities. Work under the general supervision of foreman in assembling parts of and/or complete units such as, but not limited to, valves, fog nozzles, Siamese, hand expanders, axial playpipes, etc. Most units rather intricate but not too difficult to assemble, and having a moderate number of pieces making up the assembly. Perform minor drilling operations, burring and fitting accompanied by occasional soldering, or painting. All work done in accordance with assembly drawings and assembly instruction sheets. Most units are hydrostatically tested and mechanically checked for conformance to quality standards.

Detailed Duties

Receive machined parts from machine shop or stock room. Procure required items from stock room, such as hardware or purchased parts. Assemble units correlating minor drilling, soldering, painting, and testing operations. Report any deficiency in operation of machine tools, tools, jigs, or fixtures to foreman for maintenance check immediately. Report production and time on job time card with simple job description of operation performed. Responsible for keeping work station neat and orderly. Responsible for understanding health and safety rules and procedures relevant to your job. Responsible for immediately reporting workplace hazards and all injuries, no matter how minor, to your supervisor. Responsible for participating in health and safety training. All employees have the authority to stop a process or piece of equipment, if it is considered unsafe. Employees are responsible for addressing any unsafe behaviors of other Akron Brass employees, contractors, and visitors. Responsible for participating in incident investigation, and development of

corrective and preventive actions.
