SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITES:

This position is the Warehouse Supervisor at the HURST Jaws of Life Shelby Plant within the IDEX Fire & Safety (FSG) business segment of IDEX Corporation. This position is focused on supervising a highly engaged and high performing team supporting warehouse functionality while sustaining key performance indicators out of operations. The Warehouse Supervisor and the department will be guided by HURST Jaws of Life core values of Trust, Teamwork, and Excellence, be innovative in their thinking, have the ability to see around corners and take risks, as well as achieve results through growth initiatives.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise and coordinate activities to ensure incoming receipts and outbound shipments are verified, documented, and transacted in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Train, and performance manage employees for the receiving, shipping, and warehouse personnel

  • Maintain accurate inventory in the finished goods and component stockroom.

  • Monitor the daily shipping and receiving activities for quantity and value.

  • Develop an effective team-based culture where the assigned functions focus on the critical few, achieves commitments and wins with an outstanding team. Lead by example through training, coaching, mentoring, and counseling.

  • Effectively collaborate cross functionally with a focus on aligning the operational strategy to support business priorities

  • Cascade business goals to Manufacturing & Machine Shop team to ensure top priorities are successfully supported while driving their respective development

  • Initiate, drive, and participate in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement activities

  • Execute BU safety and performance objectives

  • Ensure factory layout and equipment locations are optimized for shipping and receiving efficiency

  • Ensure Compliance with regulatory standards

  • Internal Shipments

  • Hazardous Materials

  • Maintain strong communication ensuring cross functional knowledge transfer to execute and drive best support plan for global customers

  • Maintain continuous flow of raw and finished goods from dock to stores to customer.

  • Ensure appropriate inventory levels to minimize lead times and exceed OTD of 90% to external customers

  • Recommend design solutions and changes

  • Maintain material stores in organized manner with locations corresponding to ERP software locations.

  • Track delivery accuracy

  • Overall responsible for inventory management including control, auditing, and cycle counting

  • Design -- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, drawings, and models.

  • Comfortable working in grey space areas within a fast moving and changing organization

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Power Point, Visio, Word, and Outlook) at an advanced level preferred

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION LEVEL, SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS:

  • The position requires a bachelor’s degree or Minimum of 5+ years of supervisory experience in an operations /manufacturing role

  • The successful candidate must have a proven track record, demonstrated by a progressive level of growth in responsibility.

  • This person will have extensive demonstrated success in the application of Lean principles, Six Sigma, Kaizen, JIT in an industrial environment.
