IDEX Inventory Specialist in Cedar Falls, Iowa

Primary Function:

Ensure inventory accuracy for Viking Cedar Falls by performing daily inventory counts, managing inventory exception reports, and reconciling inventory discrepancies.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Daily/Weekly:

  • Count inventory items based on ABC stratification, using the cycle count system within the J.D. Edwards manufacturing system.

  • Perform cycle counts for Viking Cedar Falls.

  • Reconcile inventory discrepancies and document root causes.

  • Keep the Operations Accounting Manager, Purchasing and Planning Group informed of any adjustments to inventory levels that may affect the production process.

  • Work with exception reports to manage transaction discrepancies.

  • Conduct special audits as requested by the Operations Accounting Manager and other Operations or Sales personnel.

  • Perform additional inventory transactions, as requested (EOZ, inventory adjustments, return-to-stock tags).

  • Assign inventory locations when needed, including updating old/existing locations.

Monthly/Yearly:

  • Assist with the annual physical inventory, including planning and preparation for the inventory.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations Accounting Manager.

Advanced:

  • Identify root cause counter measures and drive corrective actions for variances.

  • Assist in the training and development of Inventory team members.

  • Recommend standard work and best practices for cycle count procedures.

Other:

  • Assist in the EOZ disposal process, including physically disposing of the inventory.

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.

Other Special Requirements:

  • Problem solving experiences a plus.

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Computer Skills:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • JDEdwards working knowledge, based on training provided.

Work Environment Requirements:

  • Ability to move within office and manufacturing complex.

  • Perform general office functions.

  • Ability to communicate by speech and hearing via phone and in person.

  • Visual acuity needed for close detail work and computer use.

  • General manufacturing, warehouse and office environment.

  • Extended periods of time spent on the Machine Shop floor, and in stock rooms.

Organizational Relationships:

  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate with customers, suppliers and all levels of corporate and company personnel.

  • Must be able to work well and cooperate with people of all levels of the organization. Must work closely with stock room personnel.
